ARCHITECT / PROJECT MANAGER

Curtis + Ginsberg Architects is an award-winning, social values-driven firm focusing on cutting edge sustainability, and innovative design for positive change, with a diverse portfolio of work. All C+GA projects embrace decarbonization, reuse, adaptation and designing to compliment the urban fabric. Our work is at the forefront of incorporating best practices in passive and active sustainability principles, resilience, and wellbeing and active design strategies.

With projects valued at over $250 million in construction, C+GA is currently seeking an Architect / Project Manager with a minimum of 10+ years of experience with experience working on existing buildings, to work on exciting projects from conception through construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of projects that range in scale from interior renovations to adaptive re-use of existing buildings to complex multi-building campus renovation work, including innovative sustainability upgrades, residential and institutional projects, from feasibility through construction administration.
  • Maintain primary contact and interface with client and consulting team.
  • Lead design generation and ensure integrity of concept and design work carries through the Documentation and Construction Phases.
  • Coordinate design and production of all phases, existing building evaluations, schematic design, design development and construction documents, including supervision of the project team.
  • Manage bid period and construction administration services, including site visits and coordination with the owner – private and/or public agency.

Skills:

  • Experience working on extensive rehabilitation projects, from interiors to full exterior renovation / restoration, and campus-wide updates. Multi-family residential experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and design skills, with the ability to work independently, and with large consultant teams. 
  • Excellent project delivery experience, including construction documentation and construction administration.
  • Wide ranging knowledge of architectural practice and construction in general.
  • Commitment to and experience with sustainable design.
  • Experience with Historic / Landmarks Preservation Commission projects a plus.
  • Experience with NY City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and Housing Preservation Department (HPD) a plus
  • Experience in New York City and familiarity with Building Codes and NYC Zoning Resolution a plus.
  • Experience with sustainable design, resilient design, accessibility, and multi-family housing a plus.
  • Professional architectural degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Proficiency in REVIT required.
  • 3D proficiency a plus.
  • US Architectural registration preferred
  • LEED Certification and/or Passive House Certification a plus
  • Excellent English language communication and client interface skills
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employee sponsorship.

Salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000, subject to adjustment based on candidate’s experience, skills, and references feedback.

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

Our work is at the forefront of incorporating best practices in passive and active sustainability principles, resilience, wellbeing and active design strategies.

C+GA is currently seeking a full-time Administrative Coordinator with 2-5 years’ experience to support the Leadership team of the firm. The Administrative Coordinator is involved in a range of administrative responsibilities pertaining to the Leadership team and the office. Their primary function is to ensure the smooth organization and functioning of the Leadership team’s day to day calendar management, administrative responsibilities and working closely with other administrative staff.

They are effective collaborators, working across departments, in support of Leadership team and senior management for special projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Heavy calendar and scheduling management, serve as point person for scheduling and planning
  • Lead the scheduling, follow-up, and execution of all meeting invites in both office calendar and in Zoom meeting rooms.
  • Handle email and phone correspondence on behalf of leadership team, mainly in the areas of scheduling meetings, meeting follow-up tasks, and logistical inquires
  • Perform both administrative and operational duties daily
  • Assist with document organization, record keeping, filing and preparation.
  • Assist in meeting preparation
  • Handle light bookkeeping tasks such as tracking expenses and preparing basic financial reports.
  • Prepare documents, reports, and presentations as required.
  • Complete miscellaneous administrative tasks and special projects as needed
  • Provide backup support to front desk, including answering calls and handling administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 2 -5 years of experience in an administrative capacity with at least 1 year of executive level interaction. 
  • Strong experience in handling a wide range of administrative duties and executive support-related tasks and be able to work independently
  • Should be well organized and flexible, and motivated by the challenges of supporting an office of diverse people and activities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience managing complex calendars with competing priorities a plus
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail, paired with persistent follow-through. 
  • Ability to multitask, superior ability to receive many incoming tasks and requests, prioritize them, and effectively complete them
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to troubleshoot, think creatively, and take initiative.
  • A “team player” disposition and collaborative mindset.
  • Experience in AEC industry is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Outlook (for e-mail, calendar, contacts) and MS Teams required
  • Intermediate to Advanced level of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to operate office machineries and handle troubleshooting

Salary range for this position is $55,000-65,000, subject to adjustment based on candidate’s experience, skills, and feedback from references.
