C+GA Announced as a Member of NYC Mass Timber Studio
The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has announced C+GA as a member of the NYC Mass Timber Studio! This climate innovation program will expand the use of mass timber, a low carbon alternative to concrete and steel composed of engineered wood products.
We are studying the use of mass timber and its integration with the design and construction of high-quality affordable housing at Hillside Avenue in Jamaica Queens. This project will provide 100% mixed-income affordable housing with approximately 136 units and ground floor commercial.
Thank you NYCEDC, the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice, USDA Forest Service, Softwood Lumber Board, WoodWorks, NYC Department of Buildings, and AIA New York for organizing this innovative program.
With MURAL Real Estate Partners, Buro Happold, and Rodney D. Gibble Consulting Engineers.
