Marcus Garvey Village Virtual Tour with Mark Ginsberg
On Saturday October 24th, join C+GA Partner Mark Ginsberg FAIA, LEED AP for a virtual tour of Marcus Garvey Village in Brownsville, Brooklyn to celebrate Docomomo NY | Tri-State’s theme, The 70s Turn 50 for Docomomo US’ Tour Day 2020.
In 2013, C+GA, for L+M Development Partners, renovated and transformed the 14-acre complex originally designed in the 1970s by a team at the Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies (IAUS) led by Kenneth Frampton.
Completed in 1976, Marcus Garvey Village was part of New York State’s Urban Development Corporation’s initiative to produce low-rise high-density housing. The project was also featured at the Museum of Modern Art prior to construction.
