Brilla Veritas Elementary is a K-8th charter school developed with Civic Builders. Brilla is located on the first floor and lower level of another 12-story building designed by C+GA, the 156th Street Development. Abundant daylight fills the school as the steeply sloped site exposes much of the school’s lower level. Beyond classrooms and offices, the facilities include a multi-purpose room which serves as a gymnasium and a cafeteria. The school’s windows have a playful vertical movement in which the facade is accented with brightly colored metal panels.
Above the school, the residential portion is clad in alternating brick to temper the scale of the building. Large metal panel accents punctuate the brick, adding another level of texture within the cohesive building.
