With over two decades of experience, Tamar Kisilevitz AIA, FARA is an accomplished architect whose expertise spans affordable housing, preservation, adaptive reuse, educational, and sustainable design. Tamar is committed to developing socially responsible architecture that meets both client and community needs through innovative problem-solving and a collaborative communication style. Her deep understanding of building codes and project management ensures the successful delivery of projects across various sectors, from new low- to high-rise developments to the renovation and adaptive reuse of existing structures.
Tamar leads numerous public housing restoration initiatives, including the comprehensive revitalization of NYC Housing Authority properties. Her leadership has been instrumental in the restoration and renewal of over 14,000 affordable housing units, including the recently celebrated Harlem River Houses, which won the 2025 Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award.
In addition to her design leadership, Tamar is passionate about mentorship, providing guidance and fostering growth among emerging architects and designers. She serves as a trusted mentor in the office, bringing a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to the next generation of architects.
A Fellow of the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) and former SARA NY Council President, Tamar earned her Bachelor of Architecture and Certificate in Historic Preservation from Pratt Institute.
