ARCHITECT / PROJECT MANAGER

Curtis + Ginsberg Architects is an award-winning, social values-driven firm focusing on cutting edge sustainability, and innovative design for positive change, with a diverse portfolio of work. All C+GA projects embrace decarbonization, reuse, adaptation and designing to compliment the urban fabric. Our work is at the forefront of incorporating best practices in passive and active sustainability principles, resilience, and wellbeing and active design strategies.

With projects valued at over $250 million in construction C+GA is currently seeking an Architect / Project Manager with a minimum of 10+ years of experience working on the renovation and rehabilitation of existing buildings. The role will involve working on projects from conception through construction, and initially the transformation of two large, multi-building, campuses currently under construction. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects that range in scale from interior renovations to exterior envelope updates, to complex campus renovation work, including innovative sustainability upgrades, residential and institutional projects, from feasibility through construction administration.
  • Maintain primary contact and interface with clients in collaboration with Partners and Senior Management and maintain primary point of contact for consulting team, and construction team.
  • Maintain integrity of concept and design work through all Phases, and any document updates and Post Approval Amendments.
  • Coordinate timely responsive review and responses to submittals and requests for information from the construction team.
  • Evaluate uncovered existing building conditions and modify construction documents accordingly to address conditions both directly and through supervision of the project team.
  • Manage a team of staff during the construction administration services, including conducting site visits and coordination with the owner – private and/or public agency.

Skills:

  • Experience working on extensive rehabilitation projects, from interiors to full exterior renovation / restoration, and campus-wide updates. Multi-family residential experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and design skills, with the ability to work independently, and with large consultant teams. 
  • Excellent project delivery experience, including construction documentation and construction administration.
  • Wide range of knowledge of architectural practice and construction in general.
  • Commitment to and experience with sustainable design.
  • Experience with Historic / Landmarks Preservation Commission projects a plus.
  • Experience with NY City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) a plus.
  • Experience in New York City and familiarity with current and past NYC Building Codes and the NYC Zoning Resolution a plus.
  • Experience with sustainable design, resilient design, accessibility, and multi-family housing a plus.
  • Professional architectural degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Proficiency in REVIT required.
  • US Architectural registration preferred
  • LEED Certification and/or Passive House Certification a plus
  • Excellent English language communication and client interface skills
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employee sponsorship.

INTERMEDIATE ARCHITECT

Curtis + Ginsberg Architects LLP is an award-winning Manhattan architecture firm which values quality design, a team environment, innovation, sustainability, and collaboration. Our commitment to sustainability and equity has been recognized by the Ivory Prize for innovation in sustainable affordable housing. With a team of 45+, we specialize in sustainable and socially responsible design, with a blend of exciting mixed use, multi-family residential, cultural, planning, institutional and educational projects which enhance communities in the NY metropolitan area.

C+GA is currently seeking a candidate for Intermediate Architect with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience, experience working in rehabilitation of existing buildings, and expertise in Building Information Modeling. US experience required.

Responsibilities:

  • Team member for large scale renovation projects involving multiple buildings and campus infrastructure. Other projects may involve sustainable mixed use, residential, education and institutional projects, from feasibility through construction administration.
  • Interface with Project Manager and Project Architect as well as other Architectural team members. Coordinating individual work scopes with the rest of the project team.
  • Participate in the coordination of design and production of all phases, schematic design, design development and construction documents.
  • Assist in preparation of technical drawings as well as design and conceptual presentation imagery.
  • Assist with bid period and construction administration services, including site visits and coordination with the owner – private and/or public agency.

Skills:

  • Excellent skills in REVIT and Building Information Modeling with a full understanding of LOD classifications and how to execute industry standards for model elements at all phases.
  • Navisworks experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and design skills, with the ability to work independently. 
  • Excellent project delivery experience, including construction documentation and construction administration.
  • Experience in Construction Administration phase a plus.
  • Commitment to and experience with sustainable design.
  • Experience in New York City, NYC Building Codes and with multi-family housing a plus.
  • Professional architectural degree from an accredited institution.
  • 3D proficiency and adobe suite (photoshop, illustrator, etc..) required.
  • LEED and / or Passive House Certification a plus.
  • Excellent English language communication and client interface skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

PART-TIME IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

We`re currently seeking a candidate for a part-time IT Support Specialist with a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on IT support experience to support day-to-day technology needs across an office environment, excellent organizational skills are a must. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on support, problem-solving, and working closely with design professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day IT support across the office, including senior staff
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Assist with workstation setup, onboarding, and offboarding
  • Support software updates, licensing, and system maintenance
  • Coordinate with IT vendors and escalate issues as needed
  • Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and inventory
  • Assist in researching and implementing IT improvements
  • Provide timely, effective, and professional support to staff

Skills and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field strongly preferred or in process
  • 2+ years of IT support experience
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365
  • Basic understanding of networks, printers, and office systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience supporting design software (AutoCAD, Revit preferred)
  • Excellent English language communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Experience in AEC industry is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated team player, self-starter and independent thinker
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; climb or balance crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds.

Technical Requirements:

  • Intermediate level of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Teams required.
  • Ability to operate office machinery and handle troubleshooting
  • Workstation setup and maintenance (laptops/desktops, peripherals)
  • Network basics (Wi-Fi, VPN, printers, file servers)

Schedule:

  • Part time – 20-25 hours a week
  • In office presence required 5 days a week
  • Flexible schedule, with availability for occasional urgent issues

Hourly range for this position is $25-30 hours per hour, subject to adjustment based on candidate’s experience, skills, and feedback references.
